Those of us out in the trenches are really in the dark about the present status, or future plans. And while I certainly don't want to jinx anything, it is good to see the site is up and in particular, for me, the forums are running at a decent clip.

I have roots, good memories and good friends here - sounds like a home.

Good job. Thanks.

PS - Since the site is warming up, can we ditch the snow flakes? Wink

Hi,
Unfortunately the site downtime was as much as a surprise for us as it was for everyone.

Once Paul gets some time, I'm sure he'll shed some light on what happened.

Confused Not sure what that means. Was it ever up? Today is the first day in way over a year I can say the performance is a pleasure to work with!

Hi,
Of course it's been up. Performance hasn't been quite good, but it's only for the last month that the site was completely unreacheable.

Ah, okay. Some, like me, would say performance was such that the site was not usable, at least not on any consistent basis.

Today, however, is totally the opposite Very Happy I have been on it for a couple hours now and consistently, the pages loads have been excellent! I hope this continues.

I'd almost given up coming to this site due to consistent page load failures. Earlier today I was pleasantly surprised how quick pages were to load and it's still the same now.

Thank you to whoever did whatever they did to bring the site back to normality. clapping

May I add my congratulations to yours, Bill? Good point about ditching the snowflakes.

Kudos to whoever brought the site back up. I was getting withdrawal symptoms. Laughing

Yes, whoever fixed it MAHALO!!

It was awful taking 5 minutes to open a page here if it opened at all. Thank goodness, Kye-U posted a Google config for Sidki's Proxo configs at his forum after he posted it here and saw how difficult it was to get here as I could not get the Proxo forums to open at all for a long time.

It is great to see the site working fine again. Smile This is too fine of a site that has way too much help to offer users in need to see it die a slow death as it appeared to be doing this past month.

A big and belated thank you to 'whoever'.

It was becoming nearly impossible to use this site, for me, and on one or two occasions i was locked out totally.

As I write this, the load and refresh speeds are F1 / Daytona standard! Laughing

Well, I hate to be a "wet blanket," but over the last 7 days or so, the connection problems seem to have come back, at least, for me. Sad

At first, it was intermittent, with an occasional slight delay in loading pages, but it seems to have been slowly getting worse over the last 7 days or so, until it has now reached the point where I never know whether a page will load! I'm getting a lot of network timeout errors and I often have to retry the page load several times before it finally succeeds. Two days ago, I had to keep retrying for about 45 minutes before I could get through to the SIRT reporting page.

It seems that CC has gone back to the state it was in about 3 to 4 weeks ago, when I posted a question about an apparent DDoS attack. It was denied, the explanation being given was something to the effect that it was a hardware or software performance issue. I can't post a link to the thread now, because everything is taking so long to load that I'd be up all night trying to find it. (It's the middle of the night here in Australia).

Anyway, I hope that whoever is responsible for maintenance can fix it soon. I certainly concur with all the previous postings in this thread: performance has been really great. In fact, it had never been better in my experience! (I joined up in 2006, just after the BlueFrog debacle).

So, to whomever is responsible for fixing it, I hope you have some good luck soon!
