Compare Product Reviews in this ClassSUPER Antispyware is a relatively new program.
I am reviewing the free scanner.
The program is actively developed and upgrades regularly.Updates are also regular in their frequency.
The updates are handled a little different than any other A/S program that I have used. It's a two-part process. The first taking the longest to download.
It has configurable scans-
Quick Scan,Complete Scan,or Custom Scan.
The options for Custom Scan are;Memory,Registry,Startup Locations,Cookies, and Selected Folders.
You can scan removable media, fixed drive,cd rom.
There is a quarantine feature, which is a must in my opinion.
SAS has alot of options in the Preferences & Configuration tab.
I'll mention a few of the many available:
Scanning control has 12 options including Ignore System Restore,Scan Alternate Data Streams, and Scan for Tracking Cookies.
Real Time Potection,HiJack Protection and Repairs are other areas that can be configured.
The Main Control Panel has helpful information such as the last scan date,Definition Database Version and date of last update. It's convenient to have that info on the panel.
The biggest positive factor with SAS is the developer's presence and support on web forums.
Very good support and active development are two strong points for a newer program that will only get better.
Is it the best? Probably not,but it is a very good free scanner and it has been effective at removing the few pests that it has found on my computer.
SAS free is easy to use and reliable.
